Mayor Pinheiro Speaks in January

The first program of 2009 for Gilroy AAUW will be The State of the City by Mayor Al Pinheiro. This will be the second annual Mayor’s program, and it is expected to be particularly important to the audience this year.

Mayor Pinheiro will discuss the finances of the City, the recent cutbacks and layoffs, and the expectations of the remainder of the 2008-09 fiscal year, as well as the projections for 2009-10. He will also talk about other topics of interest including Public Safety, Transportation, Housing, and Recreation.

The program will take place on Wednesday, January 14th, at Mama Mia’s Restaurant, on First Street in Gilroy.

The cost for the evening’s dinner and program is $25 per person. A buffet dinner will be served, and the cost includes a choice of three entrees: vegetarian, chicken, and pasta; salad, rolls, and iced tea or sodas. Please make your reservation as soon as possible.
